Use your own headphone measurement

The FullScale hearing test adjusts every tone to the headphones you are wearing. Add a frequency-response measurement for your headphones here and FullScale will use it the next time you test. Use it when your headphones are not in our device list, or when you have a measurement you trust more than the one we have. It stays private to your account and appears in FullScale under My headphones.

What to upload

  • A raw frequency response: dB against Hz, as measured, not compared to a target.
  • Two columns, frequency and dB, as .csv, .txt, .tsv or .xlsx, or pasted text. Left and right columns are fine; you can pick one or average them.
  • Data up to at least 16 kHz, with a point near 1 kHz.
  • Images of graphs are not supported yet.

Where to get a raw measurement

  • AutoEq results: open the headphone's folder on GitHub and download the frequency, raw CSV.
  • squig.link graph tools (crinacle and others): choose the headphone, then use the download or “raw” export. Note whether the page says it was measured on a B&K 5128.
  • Room EQ Wizard: File → Export → Measurement as text. Turn smoothing off first.
  • Your own rig: any two-column text export.

Using it in your hearing test

  1. Save the response here while signed in. It appears under My Devices in your account.
  2. Open FullScale or ARIA ONE and sign in with the same account.
  3. Start a hearing test. In the device search your saved headphones are listed first under My headphones. If you just added one, the app offers it to you directly.
  4. Select it and follow the app's volume instructions for your setup: a phone or computer goes to maximum volume; an audio interface or headphone amp follows the level the sound check asks for. The volume forecast estimates that level from your specs, and the Details step above can save it with the headphone.
  5. Run the test as usual. On a phone, the “Open FullScale” button after saving takes you straight to this step.

Your saved headphones appear at the top of the device search, marked with a star.

Just added one? The app offers it when you start setup.

If the measurement came from a Brüel & Kjær 5128, say so when you add it; the app labels the response so you know how it is being treated.

Limits

  • Up to 10 saved responses per account. Delete one in My Devices to add more.
  • A saved curve cannot be edited; delete it and add a new one. Hearing tests you already ran keep their data.
  • Your response is private. It is not added to the community database.
